About AIDTB-2026
Artificial Intelligence is redefining the way we understand, investigate, and apply biological knowledge. From decoding complex molecular interactions and accelerating drug discovery to enabling precision medicine and sustainable agriculture, AI is rapidly transforming every facet of the biosciences ecosystem. As the convergence of biological sciences, data science, and intelligent technologies continues to accelerate, there is an increasing need for multidisciplinary platforms that foster collaboration, innovation, and meaningful dialogue among researchers, practitioners, industry leaders, and policymakers.
Recognizing this transformative shift, the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at D. Y. Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai, is proud to organize the National Conference on AI-Driven Transformation in Biosciences (AIDTB-2026) on 15–16 December 2026.
The School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is a premier academic and research centre dedicated to excellence in education, research, and innovation across biotechnology, bioinformatics, food science, and allied life sciences. With a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and emerging technologies, the School actively promotes cutting-edge investigations that address global challenges in healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and pharmaceutical sciences.
AIDTB-2026 has been envisioned as a forward-looking platform that brings together eminent scientists, academicians, healthcare professionals, industry experts, entrepreneurs, research scholars, and students to explore the expanding role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming biological and healthcare sciences. The conference aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas, showcase innovative research, foster collaborations, and discuss future directions for responsible and impactful AI adoption in biosciences.
The scientific programme of the conference is structured around four major thematic areas that represent some of the most exciting frontiers in contemporary bioscience research.
Conference Themes
AI-Driven Multi-Omics Integration:
Advances in high-throughput technologies have generated unprecedented volumes of biological data across genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other omics disciplines. This theme will focus on the application of AI and machine learning approaches to integrate and interpret multi-omics datasets, enabling deeper biological understanding, biomarker discovery, disease characterization, and systems-level insights. Discussions will explore how intelligent algorithms are helping researchers uncover complex biological networks and accelerate data-driven discoveries.
Smart Agriculture, Environment, and Food Sustainability Using AI:
The growing challenges of climate change, food security, environmental degradation, and sustainable resource management demand innovative solutions. This theme will highlight the use of AI-powered technologies in precision agriculture, crop improvement, climate-resilient farming, environmental monitoring, biodiversity conservation, food quality assessment, and sustainable food systems. Participants will gain insights into how intelligent technologies can contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable future.
Generative AI in Drug Discovery:
The pharmaceutical sector is witnessing a paradigm shift with the emergence of generative AI models capable of accelerating the discovery and design of novel therapeutics. This theme will focus on AI-enabled target identification, molecular design, virtual screening, lead optimization, drug repurposing, and the integration of foundation models and large language models into drug development workflows. Discussions will highlight the opportunities and challenges associated with leveraging AI to shorten development timelines and enhance innovation in pharmaceutical research.
AI-Aided Precision Medicine in Healthcare:
The future of healthcare is increasingly personalized, predictive, and data-driven. This theme will explore the role of AI in precision medicine, including AI-enabled diagnostics, predictive analytics, clinical decision support systems, digital health technologies, genomics-driven healthcare, and personalized treatment strategies. Special emphasis will be placed on applications in oncology, disease risk prediction, patient stratification, and improved healthcare outcomes through intelligent and individualized interventions.
AIDTB-2026 seeks to serve as a catalyst for interdisciplinary collaboration by bridging the gap between academic research, technological innovation, industrial applications, and policy frameworks. Through keynote lectures, invited talks, technical presentations, poster sessions, and networking opportunities, the conference will provide a vibrant forum for participants to engage with emerging trends, share research findings, and collectively shape the future of AI-enabled biosciences.
As India and the global scientific community embrace the next wave of digital transformation, AIDTB-2026 invites researchers, educators, industry professionals, students, innovators, and decision-makers to join this important conversation and contribute to building a future where Artificial Intelligence responsibly and effectively advances biological science, healthcare, agriculture, and human well-being.
About the Pre-Conference Workshop: 14th December 2026
As a prelude to the National Conference on AI-Driven Transformation in Biosciences (AIDTB-2026), the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, D. Y. Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai, in association with the High-Performance Computing Medical and Bioinformatics Applications (HPC-M&BA) Group, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Pune, organizes a one-day hands-on pre-conference workshop on "AI-driven MultiOmics on ICE-Cloud."
The workshop introduces participants to the ICE-Cloud platform and its applications in AI-driven multi-omics analysis, computational genomics, molecular modelling, and drug discovery through expert sessions delivered by Scientists and Engineers from C-DAC, Pune. Participants gain hands-on experience with AI-enabled computational workflows, including machine learning approaches for on ICE-Cloud, while exploring emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence in precision medicine, biomarker discovery, and clinical genomics. Designed for students, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals, the workshop offers an excellent opportunity to enhance computational skills, interact with leading experts, and gain practical insights into AI-driven technologies that complement the scientific themes of AIDTB-2026.
